Privacy policy.
Last updated: 19 May 2026.
Game Ball, part of the AUSA Hoops Group, is an Australian business that sells basketball training equipment and runs the website at gameball.com.au. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you can access or change it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) for marketing emails.
What we collect
We only collect the information we need to sell you a product, answer your enquiry, deliver your order or send you content you've asked for.
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number and delivery address when you place an order, request a callback, complete the quiz, contact our team or sign up for the newsletter.
- Order information: the products you buy and any quote requests you send us.
- Payment information: payment card details are entered into Stripe directly. We never see or store your full card number, only the last four digits and the card brand that Stripe shows on the receipt.
- Quiz answers:the situation details (who's using the machine, court setup, budget range, timeline) you give us so we can recommend the right Dr. Dish model.
- Website usage:anonymous analytics about which pages you visit, where you came from and what device you're using. Only collected if you accept the cookie banner (see Cookies below).
Why we collect it
- To process your order, take payment and ship your product.
- To reply to your enquiry, quote request, callback request or support question.
- To send the recommended Dr. Dish match when you complete the quiz, plus the follow-up emails described in the quiz form.
- If you've opted into the newsletter, to send our weekly Australian basketball training emails and EOFY / back-to-season pricing notices.
- To improve the website and our product range based on aggregate, de-identified analytics.
Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share the minimum needed with these trusted service providers so we can run the business:
- Stripe (payment processing) for order checkout and payment.
- HubSpot (CRM) to manage customer enquiries, quotes and the newsletter list.
- Resend (email delivery) to send transactional emails like quiz results, order confirmations and callback acknowledgements.
- Vercel (web hosting) and Google Analytics 4 (analytics) to host and measure the site.
- Dr. Dish (US manufacturer) when a support ticket or warranty claim needs engineering diagnosis from the team that built the machine. Only the technical details needed for the fix are shared.
- Australia Post, Toll and other freight carriers for delivery, with your name, address, phone and order weight.
Some of these providers (Stripe, HubSpot, Resend, Vercel, Google, Meta) are based overseas, mostly in the United States and Europe. By using the site you consent to your information being handled in those jurisdictions for the purposes described above.
Cookies and tracking
The site uses cookies and tracking pixels for analytics and advertising (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads conversion tracking, the Meta Pixel). These only load if you accept them through the cookie banner. You can change your preferences at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. Essential cookies used to remember your cart and basic site functionality work regardless of your choice.
Direct marketing and unsubscribing
We only send marketing emails if you've opted in via the newsletter form, the lead-magnet popup or the quiz. Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer. Unsubscribes are processed immediately. Transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping notices, support replies) are not marketing and will keep going to confirmed customers as required to fulfil your order.
How we store it and how long for
Customer records are held in HubSpot. Transactional data lives in Stripe and Vercel logs. All providers use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We hold order records for at least seven years to comply with Australian tax obligations. Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe. Quiz responses are retained for two years to allow follow-up; you can ask us to delete them sooner.
Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, and ask us to delete it (subject to tax and legal retention obligations). Email sales@gameball.com.au with your request and we'll respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your information, please tell us first at sales@gameball.com.au and we'll work to resolve it. If you're not happy with our response, you can escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Updates to this policy
We update this policy when our business or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page shows when the current version came into effect. Substantive changes will be announced to newsletter subscribers and reflected at the top of the page.
For specific questions about this policy or your information, email sales@gameball.com.au or call (02) 8188 9648.
